Carnivore Diet Vlog – Day Of Eating 1 – The Rules of the 30 Day Challenge

Today is the first day of the 30 Day Carnivore Challenge. In this video I will show the meals I eat today, and I will also go over my rules of engagement for this challenge. I’m going to talk about what I will drink, the foods I’ll be eating, and then I’ll explain what I’m not focusing on.

I’ll be drinking mostly water or Snake Juice with a teaspoon of Stevia added. I may occasionally drink a single Monster Energy Ultra Zero in the morning, but I’m going to attempt to avoid doing so. I have 3 remaining Emergen-C packets I’m going to use up on the morning of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of this month, but I won’t be buying any more. I’ll be taking a blender bottle with Snake Juice to work and back, and if I go anywhere on weeknights or the weekend, I’ll take it with me, if I get thirsty. But if I eat at any restaurant I’ll be sure to only drink water. One more thing: I won’t be drinking alcohol. The goal here is to avoid drinking calories, especially anything with carbs.

I’ll be eating purely animal products, made in or with other animal products. I may make exceptions on social occasions, like eating out with co-workers during the week, or if I go out to dinner or a party, I may also eat a less-than-pure carnivore meal. But I will do my best to either a) order something carnivore when I’m out, and live with the consequence that it might be prepared with canola oil or margarine, and b) I might even skip eating altogether but still attend.

I will eat meat that has seasoning on it. I don’t need a lot of it, and I haven’t used BBQ sauce in months, but I’m not adverse to spices or seasoning. Sometimes my wife buys something pre-seasoned, and sometimes her and my oldest daughter like to add a little bit on top of meals they prepare, and I’m just not going to worry about it. I’m not allergic to anything, and I don’t have any gut issues. I’m only worried about constipation or straining during bowel movements in the month after my surgery.

I am going to try and lay off the dairy products. I like cheese, but I’m not going to add any to my eggs or have any on the side if I can avoid it. I used to drink a lot of chocolate milk when I was younger, and I needed the extra calories back then because I was pretty skinny and athletic. But I haven’t had any interest in milk for more than a decade, and I don’t eat a lot of cheese anyways. But I will be using butter from animal fats, not margarine from animal fats.

I won’t be focusing on fasting or time-restricted feeding, though I am normally comfortable with eating just two meals a day – lunch and dinner – for the sake of convenience. I intend to count calories every day, however, because I want to see if I eat more or less than normal, and how it affects my weight and appearance by the end of the month. So in each video I should be able to put my total for the day in each one, and I might even list the calories for each meal, given that I only eat 1 or 2 meals a day. I’ll give my weight for the first morning of this journey, and at the end of it, I’ll post my weight on the 31st of January, so you can see where I end up.
