For those that are new to my channel. By August 2018 – I had lost a total of 40 pounds. Then gained back 12 pounds a few months later due to binge eating. While doing the carnivore diet. I was able to lose 9 of the 12 pounds that I had gained back. Actually, I gained muscle and looked leaner quickly. I went from 139.6 pounds to 130 pounds. See my video to find out why I quit. This is not click bait.

Great video. I tried carnivore but lasted only 2 weeks because, like you, I am a foodie at heart and love to cook. At the time, it did alleviate inflammation issues that I had but also triggered more food sensitivities afterwards when I started adding foods. Carnivore doesn't have to be 100% all of the time. Some do it 5 days a week and then eat more liberally on wkds. With anything, make it your own and don't worry about what other ppl think or do.

I don't follow any dogma. A little bit of catma, maybe; but no dogma. The only diet that you can stick with forever is a well-rounded omnivore diet (as distinct, of course, from the Standard American Diet, with its high volume of manufactured and processed, and most often, junk) foods. All the rest are batsh!t crazy attempts to find some holy grail, which doesn't exist.

One of the best books I've read is Michael Pollan's "In Defense of Food", wherein he advocates a real food diet: mostly (emphasis on "mostly", not "exclusively") plant based. If it grows on a plant, eat it. If it's manufactured in a plant, leave it on the shelf.

Unlike the vegan and carnivore ideologues, the typical health-oriented omnivore eats a diet of roughly 70% plant and 30% animal. Which, it seems, is precisely the average ratios advocated by Joe Cross in his 'Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead' docufilm. And over the centuries, it's a diet which has kept us all healthy, until the advent of sugary, floury snack foods and manufactured plant-based oils, both coming into our diets in the early 20th century: the start of our 'lifestyle' health problems.

The key to good health is to stick with real foods: real, fresh plants and real, fresh meat; and avoid the remainder of the packaged, manufactured stuff, and the pre-cooked microwave dishes. If there's more than two or three ingredients on the label, leave it in the store, especially if you have no idea what any of them are. If you wouldn't put it in the food you cook on your own stove, don't eat it just because a Big Food company stuck it in there to keep the bugs from eating it or to replace the nutrients they took out in the manufacturing process.

It's a diet that great grandma cooked and fed the family without the need for a PhD in nutrition, it'll work for you and your family without needing a PhD in nutrition, too.

I'm on week 15 and I have no cravings for sugar or carbs at all and haven't since week 3. This is the first I've heard of anyone having cravings that far along, but everyone is different.

Guess Carnivore means different things to different people, many seems to feel that all animal products are fair game.
To be honest, I guess I am Carnivore lite 🙂 I do love red meat, beef, but I do not restrict myself to just that, I eat lots of eggs, cream, cheeses, butter, sausages, mayonnaise, unsweetened yougurt, creame fraiche, fishes and patés (delicious, and handy if you're not crazy about liver). And I also sometimes mix in mushrooms, cabbages , onions and garlic, ginger, peppers, pickles, coconutfat and oliveoil. So a lot meatheavier than a keto person but not PURE carni.
And should I find myself in a social situation I don't really have a problem having a carb heavy meal, I just make sure to fast the day after. I guess I am at a point where a pizza doesn't really wake the sugar crawing Dragon in me anymore.

I’ve been carnivore for 8 months. Lost 30 lbs. (5’8” now 130). Hubby just left the house for a meeting and I am contemplating a run to the store for some ice cream and hot fudge! The cravings come the minute he walks out the door! Do I need counseling? =D

  • Whm Mswt

Hmmm, are we supposed to say you were never really a true carnivore now? Jokes aside, whatever works for you and makes you feel great is what you should aim for imo.

  • stratos

Wow Lola, your physcal change in only 17 weeks was very dramatic. You look great! Eating meat (organic, non-GMO, grass fed) more frequently gives me more energy and a feeling of well being. I was previously avoiding meat because of the vegetarian fad. I believe you need red meat and organ meats like liver, etc. for compete nutrition. You don't need to eat just meat alone, unless you are one of the rare types like Jordan Peterson and his daughter. Some may have a body type that does better on primarily a plant based diet. Dr. Gonzales reported that some patients could only be healed of Cancer on a meat based diet rather than a vegetarian diet that is often successful for most people.

  • Frank Sanchez

To be honest Dr. Shawn Baker did NOT start the Carnivore diet. Nina Teicholz could teach you a thing or two same with a few other leading experts. Carb's and veg are not needed or sustainable and its just sugar that will wreck your health but… its yours to wreck.

  • Keto Fran

Were you on the keto diet for 3 months before you started? I asked I believe being on keto for 3 months makes you keto adapted making a lot more easier with other food cravings I mostly crave protein making Park carnivore to be very easy, but I still love onions and garlic I can't get rid of that. I also consume eggs and cheese dairy products.
