In 3 months I was able to get off of my 3 blood pressure medications I have been on for the past 16 years, all because of Keto! I'm proof that keto is literally a life changer! Great video. I plan to share it because I've been sharing my story with so many others.

Lungs, does this diet help with COPD? My lungs are not bringing in enough air so I have to sit and be still or my heart beats so hard it hurts. Help, there is nothing out there, believe me I have looked. Your videos are great thanks for your love for us.

I'm 21yrs old, with type 1 diabetes, high blood pressure, my last a1c was 5,7%. I weight 136lbs.
I'm starting on keto diet, this is my first week, my blood sugar levels are really good. But my blood pressure is being too high, 167/111, i checked my BP was 181/128. What Can I do?

  • Carol Dees

I keep plugging along, hoping Keto will make my BP go down, but it's been 4 years and I lost 30 pounds and it's still high. Had a stroke almost two years ago that I know high BP was the cause. Still have 25 pounds to lose.

Not a long time ago, in fact just day or two had surpassed, I tried to apply this blood pressure plan of action “Nο†οvα Yuku” (Google it) and betterment followed straightaway. It definitely is stabilizing!!! I have noticed significant progress in just 20 days of using this plan. 5 more days and nights passed and my pressure is at the normal level at 120/55… .

I've been on Keto for 10 months now and it has been awesome; however, I've noticed over the past several months, my blood pressure has increased to around 140/70 which is high for me. I'm 56 yrs old, not overweight (I'm very lean & muscular), exercise 5 days/week, don't smoke, drink moderately only on weekends, and am in overall excellent health but the high blood pressure has me a little concerned. I will say that high blood pressure is hereditary in my family but is there anything else I can be doing to lower it?

  • Joy Polite

How long does it normally take for the Keto diet to start lowering your blood pressure? My blood pressure is still high: 160/82 even though I've been on the diet for 7 weeks, I'm taking 2 prescriptions, and today my doctor increased one prescription. She thinks that the advice I was given to eat high sodium on keto may be the culprit, and that I shouldn't exceed 2000mg.

  • Peace and Joy

I've been on keto one month, but blood pressure remains high (also taking ACE Inhibitor). I have lost weight, but feel awful (I think it's due to very high bp). BP fluctuates and can go as high as 178/106. Doctor doubled the dose of ACE Inhibitor, which didn't help. I'm now taking a potassium/mag supplement. How much potassium/mag should we take daily (supplement form)?

I've been on Keto for two weeks and have lost 8 lbs. Your videos have helped me immensely. Every medical person I know has given me a short lecture on the dangers of keto. Yesterday, my acupuncturist gave me a huge warning about high blood pressure and keto. I refuse to pop pills when I know if I lose weight, the bp will rectify.

folks who take bp meds should check where they are manufactured. I found out all my bp meds were made in China or India but say distributor are in the states. Tricky right?!!!That’s not a good idea especially with current government friction with China! I’d taken Valsartan and Irbersartan , they both were recalled and then I took olmarsartan and ended up in urgent care with angioedema. If keto gets me off all these meds – I’m in !

Dr Berry, thank you for your wonderful job in saving many lives. I'm 59. My MD put me on Diuretic and Atorvastatin in 2011 to lower my BP. Another MD (this time Diabetics) put me on Metformin 850mg/d in early 2016 to lower my elevated Glucose levels. Met pills helped me lower my sugar levels to 120 to 130 level. I wanted to go off all medication and started ketogenic diet (OMAD), but I was attacked by gout few weeks in the road. My Doc put me on another medication for gout attack and now I'm taking five different pills – but continued on my Keto diet and am in my fifth week now. My BP is now in a normal range of 110s/80s, my glucose levels have also gone down to the range of mid100s. My questions Dr. Berry are as follows: 1) do Statin drugs cause or at least associated with type 2 diabetes? 2) Does ketogenic diet cause gout attack? 3) what do you think will happen to my conditions. what are the risks, if I go off all my medication and continue with my keto/OMAD? 4) do I really need to take gout med for the rest of my life as prescribed by my Docs? Your kind advice please.

I know Im commenting practically 1 year later, but I do not understand why my blood pressure is high I follow the ketogenic diet all my blood work is amazing. I am 50 years young and my doctor says he is amazed that my blood work is that of a 20 year old, but my blood pressure will not go down and it frightens me very much. D you have any suggestions please and thanks for all the information you share on your channel

Thank you so much for this video…I have been following Dr Berg and DeLauer for a while now…just added you as well. I love all 3 of you guys. My life has completely changed because of you 3 and I am soooo grateful for it

  • Dr. Tom Griner

Dr. Berry, you seem to go with the standard fare concerning high BP. What is high? How can one size fit all? I have had high BP since high school 150/90 average. I am a Keto guy and don't smoke, not overweight, exercise every day. I am 68 now and have had a stent two years ago. Anyway, I know this isn't an office visit.

  • Larry Barry

amazing video keto or a very low carb diet is the key to beating high blood pressure!! that is a FACT!! also cut back sugar!!! add in some good
supplements like Magnesium Glycinate and a top notch Ubiquinol and you will rid a blood pressure problem!

  • Kao

I'm a 44 yr old female who has lost 67 pounds on keto since may 2018. I have LOW blood pressure 111/60 and 90 bpm (always very fast). Is this something of concern? I take daily potassium magnesium qt10 and multivitamin as well. I'm told to go see my doctor for having my pressure too low. Is my heart maybe working to hard? thanks and looking forward to hearing from you.

  • El Tigre

Talking about inflammation, my wife helped her inflammation by foregoing plants from the nightshade family, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes (of course with Keto).

  • Ra'Chelle Banks

I have had questions about it because of the sodium associated with a lot of the foods that are suggested as far as fats and stuff like that. Also, is it important to not eat as much fat if I'm trying to burn fat?

  • John Tobison

Dr B – thanks for all the great content on your channel – it really helped me make the transition to Keto. I did it to reverse my insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome, not weight, although that has improved too. My doctors have me on hydrochlorothiazide, ramipril, and amlodipine for high blood pressure. I'd like to get off them, if I can do it safely. I'm 9 weeks into a Keto life-style and my avg BP has improved substantially. However, even with the BP meds, I'm still seeing systolic pressures in the 130-150 range later in the day (lower in the morning). My diastolic numbers are always low – less than or near 70. I suspect I may have isolated systolic hypertension (I'm over 60). I don't know how to go about finding out if I can stop taking the meds. What values should I see while on the meds that indicates I can stop taking them? Should I just stop and then see how high my BP goes without them?

  • Johnny

It's crazy how being on Keto 2 Weeks, I lost 12 lbs and had to stop taking my BP Medication because it would drop my BP to 110/65. After 4 days off my medication I'm sitting at 117/75 and I've been hitting the gym hard during those 4 days.

  • Jane A.

My bp, GI track and cholesterol jacked up over 316 and yeah doc having a family with cardiac issues running in my family. I had to stop it immediatemy from my primary physician. Everyone's different.
